I'M BACK...SORT OF...

I know it has been a while since I've posted but I am trying to recover from a knee replacement. Between pain and meds I haven't been in much of a reading mood.
Today's blog is to inform you of a recent magazine article I wrote being released this week.
I know it isn't M/M related but hey, I gotta plug my own work. LOL
The site: twomorrows.com offers the magazine for 15% of when ordering online from their sirte.
The magazine is available in print for $8.95 with a free digital download of the issue.  You can also order the digital edition only but I don't know the price as yet.
Your support in purchasing this issue would be appreciated.  If you do buy the magazine from the publisher, please mention that I sent you there for it in the NOTES section at check-out.
Thanks for all of your patience and support. New reviews will be coming to you soon.

JP BARNABY - GUEST BLOG

I want to thank the ever excellent JP Barnaby for her contribution to my blog.  JP's LITTLE BOY LOST series is one of my top series of all time as anyone who read my reviews for the books already knows.
Today she is giving us book recommendations which I fully plan to take advantage of soon.  So, now, here is JP Barnaby...
 **************************************************************************************

Book Recommendations
As an author, I don’t review other authors because I don’t feel comfortable doing so, but I do recommend books that I love. The m/m genre has exploded in recent years making it hard to separate the exceptional from the mediocre. The definitions of exceptional and mediocre are, of course, subjective—but there are a selection of books that have made me catch my breath while reading, and I’d like to share them with you (my own books are included in this list because if I didn’t find them exceptional, I wouldn’t allow them to be published):

BDSM
Room at the Top by Davitt & Snow
Remastering Jerna by Ann Somerville
The Trap by Wren Indigo
The Island by Lisa Henry
Anchored by Rachel Haimowitz
The Deviation Series by Chris Owen
Rough Canvas by Joey W. Hill
Special Delivery by Heidi Cullinan
Slave Boy by Evangeline Anderson
Mastering the Ride by J. P. Barnaby

Non-BDSM
Hot Head by Damon Suede
The Ghost on my Couch by L. A. Gilbert
Lost Treasure by Kate Sherwood
Touch Me Gently by J. R. Loveless
The Curtis Reincarnation by Zathyn Priest
Finding Zach by Rowan Speedwell
Grey's Awakening (or just about anything else)  by Cameron Dane
Scarred (or just about anything else)  by J. M. Snyder
The Tin Star/Broken H Series by J. L. Langley
The Little Boy Lost series by J. P. Barnaby

MMF
The Reluctant Dom (or just about anything else) by Tymber Dalton
The Eden Series by Kele Moon
The Sleeping Beauty Series by A. N. Roquelaure (Anne Rice)
The Hawkins/Demon series by Cameron Dane
The Forbidden Room series by J. P. Barnaby

You’ll notice that there are really no fantasy, sci-fi, or historicals on this list because I’m not a fan of the genres. It’s nothing against them, they just aren’t subjects I enjoy reading. I’m mostly a fan of contemporaries, though there are some exceptions if the blurb captures my attention. So, hats off to these authors, especially Cameron Dane and J. M. Snyder who are two of my auto-buy authors. Thank you for the hours of enjoyment and fantasies these books have produced.
If you have other books that you think I’ll like, please put them in the comments because I’m always looking for suggestions for great books to read!

The Little Boy Lost blog tour continues June 25th – July 24th . Make sure to comment at each stop for more chances to win some really great prizes such as an entire series autographed to you by J. P. Barnaby. For additional entries – tweet about the tour including @JPBarnaby and #LittleBoyLost.

About J. P. Barnaby

As a bisexual woman, J.P. is a proud member of the GLBT community both online and in her small town on the outskirts of Chicago. A member of Mensa, she is described as brilliant but troubled, sweet but introverted, and talented but deviant. She spends her days writing software and her nights writing erotica, which is, of course, far more interesting. The spare time that she carves out between her career and her novels is spent reading about the concept of love, which, like some of her characters, she has never quite figured out for herself.

LITTLE BOY LOST - Series

Little Boy Lost is a coming of age story about two teenage boys—Brian McAllister and Jamie Mayfield—growing up gay in rural Alabama. The six book series chronicles their lives as they navigate through peers, parents, and porn, desperately searching for the perfect combination of circumstances in which they can be together. Through their journey, they find friends, pain, acceptance, loss, and most importantly, themselves.

July 2 – July 9th, Dreamspinner Press will offer the first book in the Little Boy Lost series for free on their site (http://www.DreamspinnerPress.com) and books 2-5 at 20% off in celebration of the release of the final book, Sacrificed.

Reviews for Little Boy Lost
This is a compulsively readable book. I sat down with it the other day, intending just to skim it for this re-review, but within a few pages I was pulled completely into the story just like I was last year. Brian and Jamie are wonderful characters, beautifully drawn and realized. They experience the wonder and excitement of their first love, going through each step: a touch, a kiss, an embrace, and more. At the same time, they are terrified of what might happen to them should anyone find out about their relationship. They live in a very small town in Alabama where faggot jokes and homophobia are the norm. How do they reconcile their feelings for each other with the reality of the time and place in which they are living? – JesseWave

What this author does in ABANDONED is just amazing, it is a pure and honest kind of writing that bares the soul of a seventeen, going on eighteen year old. It offers the worst of circumstances in which various forms of love can ignite, nourish and inspire Brian on his journey. I never expected to experience such a strong connection to the person Brian is. I’m still amazed by it and savoring it every chance I get. ABADONED blew me away as J.P. Barnaby continues the story of memorable characters who just go for your heart. This is just about as good as it gets in the M/M genre! – Leontine’s Book Realm

Chateau d' Eternite by Ariel Tachna – A REVIEW

Publisher: Dreamspinner Press
Author: Ariel Tachna
Title: Chateau D’ Eternite
Pages:  78
Cover Artist: Anne Cain
Price: FREE

BLURB:

When Russ Peterson accepts an invitation to an all-expense paid vacation at a resort castle in southern France, the last thing he expects is to learn he has the power to travel through time. As a historian, it’s a dream come true, offering the chance to find answers to all the great mysteries of the past. But it’s not without risks, to himself and to the world as he knows it.

After a few short, supervised visits into the past, Russ still hasn’t made up his mind about his newfound abilities. Then, on his first extended trip, he meets Quentus Maximus, second in command to the Legate of Nemausus. While learning more than he’d dreamed about the realities of life in Roman Gaul, Russ is shocked by his reaction to Quentus’s dominant nature. He has only a week to spend with Quentus before his vacation is up, and he’s faced with a decision he never expected to make: stay in the past with a man he’s only known for eight days or return home to the only life he’s ever known.

REVIEW:

In the past few months I have found 2 outstanding FREE reads, the first was Kaje Harper’s INTO DEEP WATER and now I am adding Chateau d' Eternite by Ariel Tachna.
This is an amazing historical drama, time travel and erotic novel.  Every element of a good book is right here and ready to be devoured in one sitting as I did.  It is short enough that you can read it in a few hours but detailed to the point then when you have finished you feel as though you have gone through history with the main Character< Russ.  If all historical romances were this good I’d read more of them.  Also, the editing on this book was top notch which kept you reading not noticing spelling, punctuation, and added/dropped words as many books do.
Go to Dreamspinner Press and download this book immediately, you won’t be sorry.
On a final note, this would make for a darn good series!
